Our client, a national leader in the Community Banking arena is currently in search of a Chief Investment Officer. This client is considered non-profit and has over $18 million in private equity capital. The client invests in local Community Development Institutions located in urban and rural communities nationally is recognized for its work. This lender holds approximately $1.9 billion in assets and operates commercial banks and other subsidiaries in addition to having a global investment presence.

As the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), you will be responsible for Identifying, underwriting and investing in private equity, quasi-equity and debt capital while monitoring investments in mission oriented Community Investment Banking Institutions. You will also be responsible for maintaining contact with clients for business development, compliance and impact reporting and monitoring the portfolio on a quarterly basis or as needed. This individual will also prepare reports for Trustees, and be involved in structuring products which meet the social and financial objectives of investors in addition to performing financial modeling.

Requirements

In order to be considered for this position, you must have a Masters in Business Administration or related area (Public Policy, Economics, etc), a minimum of 5 years banking experience (direct lending specifically) and experience in corporate finance, private equity investing and/or community development finance would be positive. Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills and working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite are also pre-requisites. Knowledge of the US bank/thrift regulations would be considered additional assets.
