Location: Ames, IA Pay: N/A Contact Information Name: Joy Ensley Job Description Responsible for general oversight of the entire Dean of Students Office budget, including the central office and all departments including Recreation Services, which is an auxiliary enterprise. Working with staff in the departments, this position is responsible for projecting, analyzing, preparing, maintaining, updating and performing other duties related to budget management. This position is responsible for updating the Dean and any other necessary parties regarding issues, trends and general information. The DSO budget is comprised of several different types of funds, including state operating funds, a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, private donor funding,and student fee revenue. This position is also responsible for helping oversee the financial management of fee revenue, bonds, capital expenditures and other related issues in Recreation Services. Serve as Budget Representative and Foundation Representative for DSO on the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA) Budget Committee. Evaluate and provide training to the twelve units under DSO relating to budget issues, ISU forms and Foundation information. Serve as the Human Resource contact for DSO on the VPSA committee, evaluate, and provide training to the areas under DSO relating to HR issues and forms. This position is also responsible for computer hardware replacement and for the contract related to web development. Indirectly supervise and train merit staff on budget and human resource related issues. This person attends Dean of Students Office Management Team meetings to share updated budget, human resources and foundation policies. Job Requirements Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related discipline. Five years of comparable experience in office management, with responsibilities in areas such as budgeting, accounting, purchasing, personnel and information systems. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with office computers and networks. General and cost accounting experience and budget preparation/financial analysis including experience with bonds, debt service, pro formas and funding related to capital expenditures.
